Across all our divisions the companies that make up The SAB Group have a few things in common: a strong management team, a significant market share, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and a commitment to exemplary service. The SAB Group is a Family consortium that laid its foundation stone in the early 1980's with the establishment of Mapco Plastic by the family patriarch Munir Babar, in Lahore Pakistan. As the family was forced to flee the country due to ethnic cleansing of the Ahmadiyya sect so was the business. Over the past 20 years Members of the Babar Family have worked hard to establish this family-owned consortium of companies in Canada. With this expansion we are looking forward to working with Loyalist collage to create and train more skilled labour jobs as well as administrative rolls in the community.“We are looking forward to bringing good and steady jobs to the city and look forward to working with the community on local issues. Creating a strong business and building a better world are not conflicting goals - they are both essential ingredients for long-term success. And that is our Motto.” Stated Basil Chatha – The Human Resources Director of The SAB Group of Companies We are now made up of four strong and diverse operating divisions, spanning the manufacturing, international trade, product distribution and staffing services sector. Hello Everyone, I hope you are keeping healthy and safe during these uncertain times. Thought I'd share a few points that might help you or your business navigate through this crisis You may have heard that the federal government recently announced COVID-19 financial relief for businesses. The government is working with all the Banks to make the application available during the week of April 6. We will send a follow-up email when the application is available. The Canada Emergency Business Account is a government-guaranteed loan of up to $40,000 that is interest-free until December 31, 2022. The loan is available to help businesses with operating costs during COVID-19. Twenty-five percent of the loan amount ($10,000) is eligible for forgiveness as long as the business pays back $30,000 on or before December 31, 2022. If the business cannot pay back the loan by December 31, 2022, it can be converted into a 3-year term loan at an interest rate of 5%. Safir Ahmad Babar Chief Executive Officer Dearest customers and partners, We recognize that with the constantly changing COVID-19 situation around the world, this is an unprecedented time for everyone — a time that, for many, is filled with uncertainty. Our hearts and thoughts go out to each and every one of you. I want you to know you have our commitment to continue providing you with the products and services you depend on. For more than 30 years, SAB Group has focused on our mission to power prosperity around the world. This enduring mission guides us as we closely monitor, assess and respond to this situation. As a valued customer or partner of one or more of our products and services — Mapco Plastics, Citipack Distribution, Jobsters Employment and Cleansify Janitorial — I want you to know that we understand the importance of the products and services we provide to you and your business. You rely on us to help power your livelihood, and we understand the responsibility that entails. Meeting that responsibility day in and day out, in any environment, is our primary focus. In response to the current situation, we’ve implemented our business continuity plan — which examines all areas of business operations at every SAB Group company — and have taken actions to ensure continued service to our customers. Rest assured, we are prepared to serve you. First and foremost, our plan ensures the health and safety of our employees, so we can continue to deliver and support the products you count on. Considering the most recent news and announcements from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have made the decision to have employees in our offices around the world who can perform their jobs remotely, do so through at least April 6, 2020 as well as temporarily suspending all business travel. We know many are concerned about the impact the global health situation is having on our employees. SAB Group is continuing to pay our front-line workers during this period. We are proud to support them in their critical roles as security officers, office staff, employment contractors, receptionists, building operations, machine operators, janitorial staff, delivery staff and shuttle drivers. These precautionary measures have been taken to limit the potential spread of the virus, to support our employees in this challenging time and to ensure we maintain our ability to serve you, our customer, for the long term. Our senior leadership team remains vigilant and is monitoring the situation in real time and responding rapidly as conditions evolve. Please be safe and stay healthy. Thank you.
